Evie’s Book Swap Network hosts small little libraries across our community. You can pick up a book at any book swap and replace it when you’re finished at any book swap stop.
The network started with the original Evie's book swap and you can learn more about the history on their stop page and on our blog.
Wordfest wants to make more stories available to everyone, stories that help us escape for a while, stories that make us laugh and feel cosy, stories that help us understand what we are going though, stories that help us find courage and hope, stories to share with our little ones and stories and books that help us learn.
The network is not a trail walk like our other trails, but that doesn’t stop you visiting them all in one trip!
Each book swap is hosted by a different person or group who manage the content in the library. If you see something wrong with one of the book swaps, please contact us and we can get in touch with the host.
The original Evie’s Book Swap was set up in memory of Evie, a 15-year-old from Calne who sadly passed away in January 2020. Evie loved reading and her mum Leanne set up her own book swap to share the love of reading with us all. We hope this legacy of a whole network will be lasting for many years to come.
Leanne has been sharing the journey on Instagram, talking about her reads, finding lovely local craft like bookmarks and creating chalk journeys for visitors. You can read more on the Wordfest blog.
