Continue along Wood Street, taking a right at Oxford Road, with another right onto The Pippin to view the final piece, ‘Greetings from Calne’, a fantastic new mural at The Pippin designed by Oli Knowles as a Calne Clean Up Crew volunteer project.
*Painted over three days in April 2023 by Oli along with local artists, Sandi Sayer, Sam Payne, and Penny Errill is inspired by the 'Greetings from' postcards, often seen in the US. With sustainability in mind, Oli created the colour tones based on paint that was left over from previous projects, meaning that no new paint was required for this project.
As a happy accident, this design incorporates similar elements included in the front cover of Peter Treloar's 1988 book, 'Greetings from Calne'. The word 'Calne' is infilled with important aspects of Calne, including the Calne Bike Meet, Town Hall, Ducks in the brook and river, Calne Library, and the River Marden.*
To complete the trail, continue on towards Sainsbury’s, the crossing will lead you back to the forecourt.
